Guadalupe County is proposing to update its Major Thoroughfare Plan. The purpose of the Major Thoroughfare Plan is to provide Guadalupe County with a long-term template to plan for future transportation while making short-term decisions related to roadway funding and the preservation of developing corridors.

In summer 2023, the County conducted an online survey to gather the public's input on transportation issues and priorities within Guadalupe County. Nearly 400 responses were received! Thank you to all who participated and provided us with this valuable input!
On Sept. 23, 2025, the County held a public meeting to unveil its draft Major Thoroughfare Plan; a planning tool for the County’s future roadway system. Maps, with draft colorized routes identified as thoroughfares were presented for public review and comment. Later this year, it is anticipated that the Commissioners’ Court will formally adopt the revised plan.
