Guadalupe County Major Thoroughfare Plan

Guadalupe County is proposing to update its Major Thoroughfare Plan.  The purpose of the Major Thoroughfare Plan is to provide Guadalupe County with a long-term template to plan for future transportation while making short-term decisions related to roadway funding and the preservation of developing corridors.

What will the Major Thoroughfare Plan do?

• Identify general alignments and roadway classifications needed to accommodate ultimate transportation needs.
• Allow proactive planning for future roadway improvements.
• Facilitate mobility and connectivity throughout our growing region.

What does the Major Thoroughfare Plan NOT do?

• Define the final alignment of roadways.
• Provide any environmental studies of the alignments.
• Provide final construction documents for any roadways.
• Define the timing or priority of roadways.
• Construct roadways or acquire property.

From July to August 2023, the County conducted an online survey to gather the public's input on transportation issues and priorities within Guadalupe County.  The survey closed on August 31, 2023, and nearly 400 responses were received! Thank you to all who participated and provided us with this valuable input!  The County is currently compiling the responses received.  Stay tuned for more information on the survey results!

In 2024, the County will host a public meeting on the proposed update to the Major Thoroughfare Plan.  More information on the public meeting will be provided on this website once available.
